Major Quality-of-Life Update: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Finally Makes Double XP Tokens Active Only During Matches!

Hey everyone! The frustrating issue of wasted double XP tokens that players have complained about for years is finally being fixed!

According to the latest report from IGN, official confirmation reveals that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will introduce a massive and highly requested optimization to the double XP token system:

  • Key Highlights of the Change:
    • Starting with the launch of Modern Warfare 4, double XP tokens will only count down while you are actively in a match.
    • In the past, tokens would start ticking down the second they were activated and would keep wasting time even in pre-game lobbies, menus, or loading screens where you couldn’t earn any XP. Now, this pain point has finally been addressed, allowing players to get much more out of their tokens! Additionally, your existing tokens will be usable starting in Modern Warfare 4.
  • Other Recent Quality-of-Life Additions:
    • Skin Toggle: Last week, the studio also confirmed the addition of a toggle that lets players turn off obnoxious or goofy skins. If you don’t want to see them, they will instead appear as a default character model in your game.

Facing one of the most competitive launch windows in years—going up against GTA 6 this fall—Activision and Infinity Ward appear to be actively listening to the community and trying to win back fans.
