Phantom Blade Zero Tops 500,000 Steam Pre-Orders Ahead of Global Launch

Phantom Blade Zero is already shaping up to be one of the biggest gaming sensations of the year, even before its official release. Days before its worldwide debut, the upcoming Chinese action RPG has surpassed major titles such as Gears of War: E-Day and Control: Resonant on Steam’s top-seller charts.

According to market intelligence shared by Rhys Elliott, Market Analysis Lead at Alinea Analytics, pre-orders on Steam have already crossed 500,000 units. This performance has generated roughly $24 million in revenue ahead of next week’s release. Elliott notes that mainland China currently represents the game’s largest market, though Western interest continues to accelerate rapidly.

Massive Wishlist Growth and Strong Player Crossover

Steam platform data reveals an even broader foundation for long-term momentum. Phantom Blade Zero currently boasts over 2.5 million wishlists, signaling exceptional commercial conversion.

More importantly, player cross-interest analysis highlights a strong appetite among hardcore action and soulslike fans. According to Alinea Analytics, the user overlap on Steam wishlists shows:

  • 41% of players also played Black Myth: Wukong
  • 38% of players played Elden Ring
  • 28% of players completed Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

These numbers clearly demonstrate that S-Game has successfully captured the attention of action enthusiasts who demand fast-paced, high-precision combat systems.

What Does This Mean for the PS5 Release?

While these milestones reflect PC metrics, pre-launch indicators suggest that the PlayStation 5 version will see similar enthusiasm. Elliott projects that Phantom Blade Zero has the potential to rank among the top single-player launches of the entire year.

The game’s arrival coincides with a transformative era for China’s gaming industry. Following the unprecedented global breakout of Black Myth: Wukong, high-budget single-player experiences from Chinese studios are consistently earning both critical acclaim and commercial dominance worldwide.

Phantom Blade Zero officially arrives on October 28, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
